What a WondEARful Gift!!!

Most people would not know but most Disney Cast Members (CM's) are not allowed to receive tips or gifts of any kind. I can completely understand this since we want every guest to be treated the same, as VIP's! This means that while in the parks, I am to deny tips 3 times and after that I am to take it but report it to my manager. The only time that this does not happen is if you work in a tipped position which I do not any more.
That being said, I belong to an online group for fans of the Disney Cruise Line. I became friends with someone who was showing their Fish Extender gifts (read other posts in my blog about Fish Extenders). She loves Disney and told me that the reason Disney is what it is today is due to the Cast Members and for that reason alone does she keep returning time after time to make special memories with the help of such wonderful people and Cast Members!

After talking for much time she wanted to "Thank" our Cast Members and/or me. After asking me about my favorite character (Pluto- my VIP character when I was "Special Friends" with him and many others) after exchanging addresses and after 8-10 months I received this absolutely wondEARful gift in the mail! This is an original piece of art painted on canvas using oil paints featuring Pluto!

I cannot express the joy and excitement about this piece of art! It has helped me to realize the gift that CM's are given each day to make Magic for someone and the true importance of what we do!

Thank You so very much S.D. I will treasure this forever!

10 Disney Cruises and Counting!! Platinum!

March 4th-March 9th 2012, marked a milestone for me. I became a Platinum Castaway Club Member aboard the Disney Cruise Line, The Disney Dream. This means I have taken 10 Disney cruises aboard one of their 4 wonderful ships and I have enjoyed every minute of those trips. I have actually been on more then 10 times but since I was working on the ship it does not count. I have to say that with every trip I take I learn more about Disney and experience different events that I would normally have not done. I will be posting more about this trip with pictures loaded on Facebook. My hope is that you too get to enjoy at least 1 Disney Cruise! They are memories that you will never forget with whomever you travel with.

Many Magical Memories to all!

It took 60 years...

Well it took 60 years for a part of the "Disney Look" to change! Cast Members are now allowed to have beards or goatee's as long as they are shorter than a quarter of an inch. This change goes into effect February 3rd.

As for my brothers and I, it will take us another 60 years just to grow any facial hair to even come close to resembling a beard or goatee! I guess this is just one rule that will not affect us Babbitt Boy's!!!

The Disney Brothers...

So did you think I was talking about Walt, Roy and the rest of the Disney Brothers? My own family as its own "Disney Brothers", The Babbitt Boys! First is me, Adam. I started with the Walt Disney World Resort back in 1998 on the College Program and opened Disney's Animal Kingdom! From there I have worked all across property in many different areas. Now I am in the Disney Hollywood Studios in Merchandise. Second is Daniel, who started with the Company about 5 years ago also on the WDWCP. He too works in the Disney Hollywood Studios in Attractions at Tower of Terror. Third is Damian, again he works in the Disney Hollywood Studios in Food and Beverage. We have an older sister who has not worked with Disney in an official capacity but has helped out before doing table events. We also have a younger brother, David. He is just in college and will do the WDWCP at some point. What are the coincidences he will work in DHS? So there you have it! You just met the Babbitt children and the Babbitt Boys! In the photo from left to right is Adam, Daniel and Damian.

Roy O Disney Signed Contract for "Portugal", from the People and Places Series

Just added this new autograph of Roy O Disney which now completes my Disney series of autographs needed! I still wish for a few others, however, I am happy with the ones that I have. This autograph is on the document for "Portugal", from the People and Places Series in CinemaScope. The document is 7 pages long and just to have the original document would be great for any collector but to have Roy O Disney's signature makes it even better! It is also signed by the president of Buena Vista Film Distribution Co, INC.,
